A GLORIOUS DAY - Virginia Whitson Parker has joined John, Pat Thune, Edith Anderson and so many others in her heavenly home.

She left this earth early Saturday morning Sept 1, 2012 after a restful night. The timing was most likely chosen once John finished painting and installing shelves in their new mansion. :-)

Virginia lived a faithful life as wife, mother and encourager. Many lives and marriages are changed today as a result of her life. We are grateful for all she has meant to us and are thankful for her faithful example.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday afternoon at 3:30 Sept 16th at Yorba Linda Friends Church in Yorba Linda CA. For a map http://goo.gl/maps/AJ9Ab Service details are available from the church office at 714-777-2875.

Cards and notes may be sent to Howard Parker, 5126 Lakeview Ave, Yorba Linda CA 92886 and email to family@parkers.net. We will be adding your comments and thoughts to this website as they come in.

Virginia, Howard, Lauralyn and families -  Just wanted you to know that the witness for Christ from John and Virginia lives on in more ways than you know.

Last week our Pastor had challenged us to pick 10 people that we would faithfully pray for - for their salvation or growth.  As God directed the plan for the worship for this Sunday, the story of Parkers/Thunes fit well into a challenge for faithfulness.  I asked Dad to share his testimony as an example of one man's (John's) faithfulness to pray and share.

I'm sure there were many more than 10 on the Parker list, but how grateful we are that we were on it!  Dad shared and then I added the story of John's last visit to church (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn5ssi0VQ0Q) - finishing with the his all-time question to all who greeted him, "Do you know Jesus".  Then we had a trio sing "Do You Know My Jesus".

Virginia, we are so grateful to know the Jesus you and John (and Lauralyn and Howard) brought to us in Murdo!

Much love, Karen
