A GLORIOUS DAY - Virginia Whitson Parker has joined John, Pat Thune, Edith Anderson and so many others in her heavenly home.

She left this earth early Saturday morning Sept 1, 2012 after a restful night. The timing was most likely chosen once John finished painting and installing shelves in their new mansion. :-)

Virginia lived a faithful life as wife, mother and encourager. Many lives and marriages are changed today as a result of her life. We are grateful for all she has meant to us and are thankful for her faithful example.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday afternoon at 3:30 Sept 16th at Yorba Linda Friends Church in Yorba Linda CA. For a map http://goo.gl/maps/AJ9Ab Service details are available from the church office at 714-777-2875.

Cards and notes may be sent to Howard Parker, 5126 Lakeview Ave, Yorba Linda CA 92886 and email to family@parkers.net. We will be adding your comments and thoughts to this website as they come in.
Mickey and Cheri McDermott
Dear Virginia and family,
A true legacy has passed our way and shown us how to love Jesus and live above our circumstances in all things. John taught us too many Christians live “under their circumstances and that is why they do not live a victorious Christian life.” John was such a loving example of what a true believer in Jesus Christ looks like, he taught our husbands how to love us as Christ loves the church. What a changed man Mickey has become over all the years of sitting under John and Virginia’s leadership.

It was while attending John’s Sunday school class that we fell in love with the Holy Land through the pictures and his teaching from their many trips there and we were blessed to go on two trips with John and Virginia and the whole family. The Bible became the “Living Bible” through those experiences. We can hear John singing “The Old Rugged Cross” in the choir in heaven.  What a joyful sound that must be. Our reassurance is in knowing we will all be together one day soon rejoicing as one.

I look at you Virginia as a most blessed woman to have 67 years of marriage to such a godly man. I have learned so much from you on what it means to be the wife and mother that God wants me to be, truly a Proverbs 31 woman. You are such a beautiful and gentle soul. Our prayers are with you as you begin this journey. We pray for the Lord to comfort you and give you peace and remember He is always with you.

We are so thankful and blessed to be a part of your wonderful family. We hold you all up in prayer as you go through this difficult time. Yes, we praise the Lord as John is with him now, but he will be missed so greatly by so many.
With much love and blessings.
