A GLORIOUS DAY - Virginia Whitson Parker has joined John, Pat Thune, Edith Anderson and so many others in her heavenly home.

She left this earth early Saturday morning Sept 1, 2012 after a restful night. The timing was most likely chosen once John finished painting and installing shelves in their new mansion. :-)

Virginia lived a faithful life as wife, mother and encourager. Many lives and marriages are changed today as a result of her life. We are grateful for all she has meant to us and are thankful for her faithful example.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday afternoon at 3:30 Sept 16th at Yorba Linda Friends Church in Yorba Linda CA. For a map http://goo.gl/maps/AJ9Ab Service details are available from the church office at 714-777-2875.

Cards and notes may be sent to Howard Parker, 5126 Lakeview Ave, Yorba Linda CA 92886 and email to family@parkers.net. We will be adding your comments and thoughts to this website as they come in.

May God bless the memories we have of John. How precious they are. And may the Lord bless his dear family.

John loved Jesus, his wife and children, the ministries at Y.L.F.C. and the lost.  He was able and willing to tell anyone that would listen about the Lord and how He could change lives.

Attending his S.S.Class was a real joy, not only for me but for many. His teachings from God's Word were truthful, meaningful and sometimes funny. The way he would get worked up telling his stories and getting his point across with phrases like "that old dog wont hunt" and "they think they got the world by the tail with a downhill pull" couldn't help but get your attention.

I loved John's friendliness.  When John was in the room you knew it. He was mixing with people he loved and finding out what the Lord was doing in their lives.

John loved gospel music and loved to sing even though he was not always in- tune which didn't matter; He was in the Spirit. He used to kid me by saying I wouldn't let him sing in the choir. Often he would greet me by trying to sing the phrase of the secular favorite "O Danny Boy---".  I always felt
Christian love and affection from John Parker.

I know John is rejoicing in the presence of Jesus and I'm so happy for him.

To Virginia, Lauralyn and Howard, may the Dear Lord comfort you with His sweet Spirit.  Love you all.
